History:

Caroline was, at one point, nothing less than an overachiever- and a bit of a selfish brat. Head cheerleader, Miss Mystic Falls, member of the student council- Caroline inserted herself into every situation she possibly could. It was, for the most part, a bid for attention as she had always felt overlooked in favor of her close friend Elena. Her short-lived relationship with Matt helped her begin to develop into a more well-rounded person but it wasn’t until she was turned into a vampire that she truly started to evolve into someone that thought about the group as a whole and worked quite hard to help those in her social circle.

She was there for Tyler while he tried to adjust to his new life as a werewolf. That closeness eventually turned into a relationship- though not without a few bumps in the road. When Tyler’s sire bond to Klaus almost resulted in Caroline’s death he left to find a way to break free of the Original’s hold on him. And while his return should have been the start of a happy life for them it seemed that fate had other plans and constantly threw curveballs at them. The latest curveball came in the form of Tyler helping all of the hybrids to break their sire bond and them planning to kill Klaus- which turned into the hybrids all being killed by Klaus. To save his life Tyler was forced to flee Mystic Falls indefinitely which put a definite damper in any romantic relationship between the two.

Now:

Still desperate to help get a hold of the cure for the good of her friends Caroline is also trying to grow accustomed to the fact that in order to save Tyler’s life she made a deal with Klaus that she and Tyler would end their relationship. That doesn’t, however, mean she doesn’t still care for Tyler- or that she’s fallen into Klaus’ arms. Nor does Klaus seem to want that to happen. He seems to want to win her over on his own if they’re ever to be together. And so in addition to helping out her friends and trying to get over the loss of her relationship she must deal with the advances of a quite dangerous Original vampire.
